Tales From Da Hood

DA AUTHOR,

Bio of Cheryl Spikes...

Grew up on the streets of Brooklyn (Farragut/Fort Greene Projects).  She loved all genres of music as long as it had beautiful   lyrics or, a great beat! Cheryl, developed a penchant for singing and writing at a very early age   and was really good at it.

As she got a little older, she discovered that she was painfully shy, and very unsure of herself!   Because of this, she hid behind short stories, poems and songs that she would write and   performed for her family and friends as a way to break the ice.

Once the 80's rolled in, she was a full-fledged teenager and was experiencing the 80's hip hip   explosion.  Cheryl, became mesmerized by the whole male-dominated genre and luckily for   her so, were her two talented, best friends!

She and her friends started an all-girl DJ crew; Paradise Exquisine, was born!  The group   consisted of her two, long time, twin best friends.  Together they took the rap world by storm!

Cheryl AKA "Chilly C," was the emcee of the group.   Her skills were not only rhythmical but, skillful! She was not only a skilled rapper but a great singer!  Together they gained popularity and fans by playing  neighborhood parks, and parties!

The group quickly rose to the top of their craft with the respect and admiration of their male     counterparts.  They had successfully succeeded and were now the top girl DJ group in the city but, just when they were riding high and enjoying their accomplishments...tragedy struck!

After years of re-educating, re-evaluating and re-finding herself, Cheryl discovered a bigger,   better person within herself!

According to Cheryl...

"The experience was absolutely necessary in order to reach my new-found plateau of     spirituality and truth!

I am smarter.

I am wiser,.

I am humbled.

I am blessed.

I am now a true child of God!"

It is this person who brings you these...
