A young, 13-year-old girl named Monay, who loves to sing and write poetry has trouble growing up in the church while having to live amidst worldly temptations such as: Poverty, peer-pressure, young love, violence, bullying, racial hatred, police brutality, drugs and sex.

However, as Monay navigates the complexities of adolescence, she encounters a world rife with temptations and harsh realities. The pressures of fitting in with her peers weigh heavily on her.
